Located in the southeastern part of the state, Milford is a clean, friendly community with all the benefits of small town living, yet less than 20 miles from Lincoln, our capitol.  Milford is just 3 miles south of Interstate 80 for quick access to both Lincoln and Omaha.

Approximately 2000 people live in Milford, a growing community with new housing developments.  An additional 1000 full-time students attend the Milford Campus of Southeast Community College.

The Milford Public School District is well known for its excellence.  Milford & Pleasant Dale Schools serve over 700 students, Preschool to 12th grade.  The Educational Service Unit offers a full range of class and extracurricular offerings.  The ESU is located in Milford, providing services to schools in a 5 county area. Milford has two other preschools, besides the Public Schools.  Bellwood's very own Christian Montessori School reaches many families as well as another Christian preschool in town.

Businesses in Milford include banks, grocery stores, real estate and insurance offices, fast food, dining and catering facilites, convenience stores, a pharmacy, medical and dental clinics; several building contractors, auto sales, and service, gift shops, floral, a photography studio, beauty shops, bed and breakfast, and various other businesses. 

Milford has many benefits for senior citizens.  The Milford Senior Center is a favorite gathering place for seniors and also houses the Director of Aging Office for Seward County. Linden Village offers housing for the elderly or handicapped.  We have two nursing care facilities in Milford, Crestview and Sunrise Country Manor.

Milford is the home to several other churches, who together form the Milford Ministerium.
