Bellwood Church is a church which was born and continues to be nurtured in the Mennonite Anabaptist tradition. Bellwood's mission is not only to those who worship and fellowship with the congregation, but also to the community and to the larger world.

Our church was founded in 1958. The Story of Bellwood began in November 1957, near Beaver Crossing, Nebraska, where 13 Christian families in search of a spiritual family had a vision for a new fellowship of believers. Following several months of worship and prayer, 39 persons, committed to Christ and his Church, formed a new congregation. After meeting in a grocery store, school house, and in homes, the congregation purchased land in the Bellwood section of Milford, Nebraska, from which came the name Bellwood Mennonite Church. Ivan R. Lind from Hesston, Kansas was the first pastor. In August of 1970, the congregation joined Iowa-Nebraska Conference, later becoming Central Plaines Mennonite Conference. Today, approximately 150 active members and participants share the journey of faith which God daily entrusts to them in the communities where they live and work.
