MCC is deeply grateful for the overwhelming response to the
January 12 earthquake in Haiti. MCC is developing a multi-year response to utilize the over $8 million that has been donated. Kurt Hildebrand, an MCC worker in Haiti , recently said ``Haitians…were accustomed to being considered by the outside world as a hopeless basket case that wasn't worth the effort..I want us to all think and pray very hard about how we can sustain the interest.'' MCC is committed to working in Haiti long after the media spotlight fades as it has in other places New Orleans, Sudan, Indonesia, etc. However, due to a decrease in general giving over the past two years, MCC has been forced to make cuts to vital programming around the world. Please consider giving a ``where needed most'' donation to support MCC's work. Send checks to MCC Central States, PO Box 235, North Newton, KS 67117 or at

Mennonite Central Committe e (MCC) is undertaking a multimillion-dollar, multiyear response to the earthquake that struck Haiti Jan. 12. You can help through prayer for the people of Haiti and by donating to MCC's Haiti Earthquake appeal. In addition, MCC is asking for donations of 20,000 relief kits, 10,000 heavy comforters and 10,000 sheets for shipment now through Feb. 28. Monetary gifts may be given through the church. The flyer in the bulletin has the list of items for the Relief Kits.

A Spiritual Snack In an effort to help us get spiritually fit, today you are receiving a copy of
`` Better Lif e ''. It is a monthly devotional from the Relationship Resource Group. It contains practical and inspirational articles that will challenge you to attain positive family and personal relationships and personal growth. We are considering offering this each month but need your feedback. Next week you will have a chance to indicate whether this is something you would like to continue receiving or not. Enjoy.

The Bellwood Montessori School is looking for someone to clean the classroom once a week starting in February. If interested, contact Sandra Stauffer.

A Great Big Thank You - First to God for his protection and healing. And thank you all for the prayers, visits, cards, phone calls and the ``stop in's'' for coffee. There is more room for coffee visits. Call ahead so we can change if necessary from the great decaf I'm allowed to have. Thanks & God Bless Orlen Stauffer
